Anyone who knows me knows that I have an affinity for "bad music." I think Summer Girls by LFO falls under that category but how can you not love this song? The lyrics are so bad that they are great.

I can just imagine their album being produced on a shoe string budget and they only having enough money for one take of the song. The band was out partying the night before and have nothing done except the chorus. With their back to the wall they just decide to wing it in the booth and the result is the gold of, "I love Kevin Bacon but I hate Footloose." A hit is born.

<lj-embed id="18" />

LFO |MTV Music

YouTube link for non-Americans

Traditionally before going to school, I would always watch an half hour or so of MTV, MTV2, and VH-1. Flipping between the channels to get the best video that was on at the time. As a result I have a lot of memories of watching the video for Falls Apart by Sugar Ray in the mornings before my senior year. Partially just because it would get play on both the MTV channels and VH-1. On top of that it's just a really great song. I've always loved the beat of the outro.

God their first album is so underrated.

<lj-embed id="16" />

Sugar Ray |MTV Music

In honor of MTV's new website, MTV Music, I've decided to do 365 days of videos. We start out with possibly my favorite video, Death Cab for Cutie's A Movie Script Ending. The technique would later be reused in The Postal Service's Such Great Heights but I still think this is the best display of it.

<lj-embed id="14" />

Death Cab For Cutie |MTV Music

You know for twelve dollars for a bowl of fettuccine alfredo, I think they could give me a salad. Maybe a cup of soup?

Oh god they are going end up taking the second chair at my table. Bastards. Just because I am the only person sitting here doesn't give them the right to take my second chair. What if I wanted to talk to myself while constantly switching from one side of the table to the other? My forefathers died in enslavement to those whose forefathers died for my right to do so.

Damn right they didn't take my second chair.
